Joanie Doherty - Founder - Gosforth Holistics
Holistic Therapist
The founder of Gosforth Holistics, Newcastle Upon Tyne since May 2019 and Treat Therapy Treatment Rooms and Gift Shop, Robin Hoods Bay, North Yorkshire since 2012.
With a previous background in Art, Design and Management, I have been a professionally qualified Holistic Therapist for 15 years.
I now work in my own treatment rooms but have experience of working in other therapy centres, a spa, yoga retreats, schools, health events and on-site in the workplace.
I believe in a holistic approach to health and life including natural approaches to healing and enhancing wellbeing.
Through my experience of holistic therapies so far, I have witnessed how powerful therapies along with other holistic disciplines, can be in helping us to lower our stress levels and in helping to bring about and maintain balance within our minds and bodies.
Here at Gosforth Holistics I am striving to provide a friendly, warm and inclusive space for both clients and therapists. A place where therapists can reach our full potential and clients can feel the real benefit of the treatments and therapies we have to offer within a peaceful and comfortable environment.

Roz Cassidy MA MBACP(accred)
Relationship Therapist
I am a BACP accredited counsellor with 22 years of experience working with individuals and couples, and a registered Myers Briggs facilitator, offering short or long term support. I offer a safe, contained space in which the concerns of the client, which can feel overwhelming, frightening and confusing, can be shared and explored, leading to new insights, perspectives and possibilities. I believe in the importance of self awareness and help my clients by facilitating this personal growth within therapy.
I also offer Myers Briggs (MBTI) psychometric testing with one to one personalised feedback. It is one of the most widely used instruments for understanding your personality type. The information enhances understanding of yourself, your motivations, your natural strengths and potential areas for growth. It can also be used for career exploration and development, relationship counselling, mid-life transitions, team building, problem solving.

Liz Pavey
Shiatsu Practitioner
I have been practicing Shiatsu since completing my three-year professional training in 2009. Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing hands-on healing art originating in Japan and informed by Traditional Chinese Medicine. A Shiatsu session usually involves the receiver lying on a futon (Japanese mattress) although Shiatsu can be received whilst seated on a chair if this is better for the individual.
Using touch, gentle manipulation and stretches the practitioner works around the receiver in a systematic manner moving along the energy channels of the body (meridians) and connecting with acupressure points. The receiver remains fully clothed throughout. Shiatsu is excellent for relieving tension and calming the mind. Regular treatments can help to alleviate stress and illness and maintain health and wellbeing.
I am a Senior (SrSS) member of the Shiatsu Society UK. To book your 1-hour appointment please email: lizpavey@hotmail.com
